A look into Starting 2014 off Successfully

A New Year generally means a new slate to many people. It’s a great time to start fresh, set new goals, and really kick start your organization. Our team at Exact Staff has compiled a list of tips to help start 2014 on the right foot.

Set Goals.
Even if this is something you haven’t done in the past, make a point to set goals for you and your employees for the upcoming year. Start with yourself and address where you want to be by the end of next year. Do the same thing with your employees. Sit down with each of your employees and talk with them about what they want to achieve in the upcoming year. Next, write down goals to help them reach these achievements. Try breaking the goals into quarterly achievements, making them more realistic and attainable.

Be Flexible.
It’s hard to be successful as an individual if you aren’t flexible, and it’s certainly not easy as an organization. Listen to feedback from your employees about new ideas and new ways to do things, and do your best to say “yes” instead of “no.” You never know what will happen if you don’t try something new. Flexibility is important to a thriving organization.

Encourage Employees to Join Professional Associations.
This is a great way to start 2014 with your employees, as it shows you care not only about the company but you care about their personal development. Professional organizations provide employees with new tools and skills that often translate to the workplace. When employees feel that their employers are invested in them, they feel a sense of loyalty and pride in their organization.

Give Back to Your Communities.
The New Year is a great time to find ways to get involved with your local communities and give back.  Your employees will appreciate the opportunity to participate in charitable events and to be a part of a company that puts people and community at the forefront!

Look to the Future.
What do you see for your organization in the years to come? How are you going to adjust to those changes? It’s important to not only look within a year’s time, but to look years into the future and predict potential strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats and how you will deal with them.

These are just some of the many ways to get your organization started in the New Year. For more ways to jump start 2014, contact one of our recruiters today!
